Dyane Donck

Composer Dyane Donck creates multidisciplinary projects and installations. Dyane Donck Company is the organization around composer Dyane Donck, who has been developing and executing multidisciplinary projects since 2010 as initiator, artistic director and performer. Music is always the starting point, mostly composed music with influences from opera, pop and soundscape in which electronics play a major role.

Dyane Donck is an artist who researches by just doing things. Thus, over the years, a stream of works arose that became more and more artistic and sharpened in terms of relationships and context, as well as in collaboration.

Characteristics of the productions that Dyane creates in collaboration with changing and returning partners: very refined aesthetics/ atmosphere of minimalism/ dark, hypnotic effect/ great impact due to the strong binding of image and sound in one experience.

In her productions, the public is presented with an inviting, accessible (often multi-sensory) total experience, usually with an active component for the public. In this way the experimental design and sound world of the productions can find their way to a broad, mixed target group. The productions take place in multiple contexts: music (theater), visual arts and art and technology. Dyane’s multidisciplinary background (visual arts, music and technology) and her investigative nature make her accessible and easy to work with.

In the past 15 years she has worked with visual artists, choreographers, animators, musicians, composers, dancers, programmers, poets and technicians. In these collaborations she took on various roles: not only as a composer, but also as a concept developer, artistic director, director, designer and music technologist.
